What Are the Inflation Methods for Bladder Accumulators?

Generally, it can be completed according to the methods detailed in the accumulator operation manual and professional equipment operation manual. Usually, special inflation tools are used for inflation. Before inflation, it is necessary to fill one-tenth of the entire shell capacity with gear oil for lubrication. The premise of this operation is to let the accumulator's oil port face slightly upwards. Then, connect one end of the special inflation tool to the accumulator's charging valve, and the other end to the nitrogen cylinder.

Open the shut-off valve in the nitrogen cylinder, adjust its export pressure to 0.05~0.1 MPa, rotate the joystick in the special inflation tool (screw into the valve seat), slowly open the accumulator charging valve core, slowly charge with N2, which will slowly open the foldable bladder installed, making the bladder expand slowly until the mushroom valve closes. At this moment, the inflation speed can be accelerated to reach the required inflation pressure. Do not charge gas into the accumulator all at once, to avoid the bladder rupturing due to uneven expansion during the inflation process.

Piston accumulators should also be slowly charged with N2. After nitrogen charging is complete, first unscrew the special inflation tool valve seat (close the accumulator one-way charging valve), then close the nitrogen cylinder. If the accumulator inflation pressure is high, the inflation system should be equipped with a booster (such as a nitrogen charging cart with a booster). At this time, connect the other side of the special inflation tool to the booster. The temperature will decrease during the inflation process. After inflation is complete and the required pressure is reached, stop for 20 minutes, wait for the temperature to stabilize, then measure the inflation pressure accurately again, complete the necessary adjustments, then close the valve and remove the special inflation tool.

If the temperature T1 during inflation and the temperature T2 during use are very different, please be sure to consider the pressure change under different temperatures (the theoretical inflation pressure refers to the internal gas pressure of the accumulator when the liquid port is not pressurized under standard temperature during use). It should be calculated according to the formula P01×T2=P02×T1; for example, if the temperature during use is higher than the temperature during inflation, the pre-inflation pressure should be relatively reduced; otherwise, it may cause the accumulator to be ineffective or reduce its service life. The accumulator needs to be tested 24 hours after inflation, and also needs to be tested regularly during current use to check whether the accumulator has air leakage.
