I. Product Introduction

The stop valve, also known as a gate valve, is a forced-seal valve that relies on external force to press the valve disc for sealing closure. When closing, force must be applied to the valve disc to ensure the sealing surfaces fit tightly, preventing medium leakage. The product is available in conventional pressure-bearing and self-sealing structural types, complying with domestic valve industry standardization specifications, suitable for high-pressure pipeline and energy storage pipeline medium on-off isolation operations.

II. Structural Opening/Closing Force Description

For conventional structure stop valves, medium flows in from below the valve disc. During opening/closing, the valve stem must overcome stem-packing friction and medium pressure thrust. The force required to close is greater than to open, so the valve body is equipped with a larger diameter valve stem to avoid opening/closing force overload causing valve stem bending deformation.

The self-sealing stop valve optimizes the medium flow path, changing from valve disc flow guidance to valve chamber flow guidance, greatly reducing medium pressure force, with smaller opening/closing load and adaptable valve stem diameter reduction; meanwhile, relying on medium pressure for autonomous sealing, the valve body closing sealing is better, with anti-leakage effect superior to conventional structure stop valves.

III. Pipeline Connection Methods

1. Flange connection: Convenient disassembly, suitable for high-frequency maintenance and medium-high pressure pipeline conditions;

2. Clamp connection: Quick installation, suitable for small-medium diameter and modular simple pipeline layouts;

3. Welded connection: Excellent sealing, suitable for buried pipelines and high-pressure long-term sealed pipeline conditions.

IV. Industry Installation Standards

According to domestic valve industry three-standardization standard requirements, enclosed stop valves uniformly implement top-to-bottom medium flow direction installation standards. Construction and installation must strictly follow the standard flow direction layout to ensure balanced sealing force and normal opening/closing action.

V. Full-Open Determination Standard

The stop valve cannot be determined as fully open solely by handle position. The valve disc lift stroke is the determination basis: when the valve disc opening height reaches 25%-30% of the valve nominal diameter, the pipeline medium flow reaches the rated flow value, and the valve is determined to be fully open.
